A web project containing selections from two works by Mary S. Claude, and Mary Claude was a Victorian author of children's stories and poetry, who was also the presumed subject of Matthew Arnold's "Marguerite" poems. The texts presented here were carefully transcribed, coded in xml (TEI), and digital facsimiles of the original editions are provided, along with explanatory notes, an introduction to the author, and a primary bibliography. The xml code is posted directly online and can be viewed using the "view source" function of the browser. This site was created by Donna Jan Pridmore, as a directed study in the Editorial Institute, Boston University, under the supervision of Dr. Andrew Stauffer, in Spring 2008.
